Getting ready for your painters

You booked the job. Anything not covered below, see the FAQ or call (317) 517-7208.
Before we arrive
Do I need to have my colors picked out?
It helps to have them settled before the first day. If you are not sure, book your free one-hour color consultation with a design professional and choose with them. If you change your mind on a color, tell us as early as you can.
Will I hear from you before the crew shows up?
Yes. Before we arrive you get a pre-job email that tells you what to expect, and we confirm when your project starts.
What do I need to move?
Not the furniture. We move and cover it, protect the floors and keep the work area organized each day. For large or valuable pieces, we agree with you ahead of time what stays, what we move and how it is protected. What helps, as advice: take pictures and mirrors off the walls and clear breakables off shelves.
What about pets?
Advice: give them a room we are not working in that day. Doors may be open more than usual, and wet paint and a curious dog are a bad mix.
My job is kitchen cabinets. Anything special?
It is best to empty the cabinets so nothing gets dusty. At a minimum, push everything back at least 4 inches. The doors and drawer fronts go to our spray booth, and the boxes are painted in your kitchen. More on cabinet painting.
The first day and project updates
Who shows up, and what happens first?
Your Crew Leader. On the first day they walk through the work planned for your project with you and answer any questions. Some of the people you may meet are on the team page.
How do you protect my house?
Inside, furniture is protected and floors are covered. Outside, landscaping, plants and shrubs, concrete, pools, windows, brick and vinyl, and deck and patio furniture are all covered while we work.

What does my house look like at the end of each day?
The work area is cleaned up at the end of every day, and your Crew Leader gives you an update on how the job is going. Two customers on how that went:
"All In painting did a great job painting all of my existing doors and trim. Luke's crew was very knowledgeable and experienced. They arrived on time and finished the project as agreed to. The guys cleaned up and left my house in great shape. Thanks All-In!"
"The guys from All In transformed our living room and kitchen in one day. Super accurate, professional, and kind. We couldn't have asked for nicer guys to come and work on our home. We actually asked for the same crew to return when we do the rest."
Exterior jobs
What should I do outside before you start?
General advice for any exterior paint job:
- Move the cars away from the side of the house being painted. Ladders and drop cloths need the room.
- Unlock the gates.
- Turn the sprinklers off the night before and keep them off while we work.
- Bring in grill covers, patio cushions and anything hanging on the house.
- Close the windows.
What we do to the house itself before paint is on the exterior painting page.

Weather
What happens if it rains?
We schedule every exterior job around the forecast, and paint only goes on dry surfaces. If weather moves a day, your project manager will let you know. Inside jobs carry on. Rain does not stop a bedroom.
Changes and surprises
What if I change my mind partway through?
Tell us as soon as you know, and we will tell you what it changes in the scope before we go on.
What if you find damaged wood under the old paint?
Rotted wood is replaced before any paint goes on. Repairs are scoped separately from the painting, so you see what is painting, what is carpentry and why. More on carpentry and wood rot repair.
The last day
How does the job end?
With a final walkthrough. Your Crew Leader walks the finished work with you before collecting final payment. If you see something you do not like, say so then. It is the easiest time to fix it.
What does the warranty cover?
Exterior painting carries a 10-year labor warranty, interior painting and cabinets 5 years, and cabinets also get our lifetime touch-up promise.
Anything you want from me afterward?
If you were happy, tell a neighbor, and if you have a minute, leave us a review on Google. You can read what other customers said on our reviews page.
To get on the schedule, request a free in-home or virtual estimate. Interior details are on the interior painting page.
