Interior painting in Bloomington, IN

Our Bloomington office at 642 N Madison St plans and runs interior painting across the city, from one bedroom to every room in the house. Each job starts with a walk through your home and a written, room-by-room scope, so you know exactly what we will paint before we start.

Original woodwork and decades of paint

Many houses near Indiana University still have their original wood trim, often under many layers of old paint. Those layers show every chip and drip once fresh color goes on. We fill nail holes and cracks, sand the old paint smooth, and prime anything bare or patched. Then two full coats go on the walls and two on the trim.

Older stairways get the same attention. Rails, spindles, casings and doors are sanded and painted by hand. When woodwork has been painted over too many times, we can strip and refinish it instead.

If a ceiling has a water stain, we first confirm the leak has been fixed. Then we seal the stain with a stain-blocking primer before the ceiling paint, so it stays gone.

Rooms, ceilings and stairwells

We paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, casings, windows and stairways. Minor ceiling and drywall repairs come with the job, and we also take down old wallpaper and paint the bare wall once it is off. Plaster walls get their cracks repaired and primed before any color goes on.

Tall entries, vaulted ceilings and open stairwells need the right equipment. Our crews bring lifts and scaffolding for that work, and each lift operator has industrial-standard training. You can read the full list of inside work on our interior painting page.

Living at home while we paint

Most people stay in the house during an interior job, so we plan for that. We move and cover furniture, protect the floors, and clean the work area at the end of every day. Large or valuable furniture gets a plan before we start: what stays put, what we move and how we protect it.

Before we arrive, you get a pre-job email that tells you what to expect. On the first day, your Crew Leader walks the scope with you and answers questions. Your project manager then sends scheduled updates, so you always know which rooms are next. The painters in your home are our own trained crew, and every one of them is background checked.

Colors, timing and the warranty

Once you book, you get a free one-hour consultation with a design professional. They help you pick colors and finishes that suit the rooms and the light in an older house or a newer one.

A single room usually takes one or two days. A whole-home repaint usually runs several days to a week, depending on how much prep and trim the house has, and we confirm your timeline at the scope review. Interior work goes on all year, so winter is a good time to get rooms on the calendar.

We walk every room with you at the end, before we collect final payment. After that, your interior work carries a 5-year labor warranty. If paint chips or peels, we come back and fix it at no charge.
